Mr. Lu has been focusing his practice on legal services in real estate and infrastructure. He was one of the draftsmen of the Operating Guidelines for Lawyers Handling Construction Projects Cases issued by All China Lawyers' Association. Mr. Lu also serves as arbitrator at several arbitration institutions where he heard and ruled on numerous cases on construction projects. He has substantial theoretical understanding and practical experience.

  • Representing Zhongtian Construction Group in its dispute over contract on undertaking construction projects against General Electric US at China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, and successfully obtained the arbitral award supporting “settlement based on submitted price” wich was ¥120 million instead of ¥70 million as claimed by the opposing party;
  • Representing Shanghai Construction Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. in its dispute over the construction contract against Haikou Century Harbor City Real Estate Co., Ltd. heard by the Supreme People's Court of the PRC in relation to the Westin Haikou Hotel, in which case, by challenging the primary Appraisal Report on Construction Cost, the final settlement of construction cost was increased by over ¥ 70 million to ¥ 230 million;
  • Representing Longsheng Property Group Co. Ltd. in its dispute over share acquisition contract against Shanghai Jiansha Investment Development Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Qianchang Property Co. Ltd. in which case the sellers intended to revoke the contract and retracted the project due to the drastic increase of the value of the project by claiming various causes. By through evidence collecting and strong argument in court, the case went through first trial, second trial, retrial and protest application and was awarded judgements in favor in all proceedings;
  • Representing the actual contractor of a construction project in Wuxi to obtain liquidation preference and 100% settlement of construction price over ¥ 100 million as the developer and contractor were both under bankruptcy procedures;
  • Representing Zhejiang Dikuang Construction Co., Ltd. in its dispute against Shanghai Centurylink Real Estate Co. Ltd. regarding the quality of construction of the construction project of 2-4 plot of Century Avenue in Shanghai, in which all appraisal reports supporting the quality issues were eventually overturned by the Supreme Court.
