Celeste Coco-Ewing is a seasoned litigator and has defended several large manufacturers in multi-week trials in state and federal courts across the country. Her practice focuses on complex litigation, with a particular emphasis on product liability and toxic tort cases. She has represented clients across various industries, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, insurance, and consumer products. Her trial work has contributed to numerous defense verdicts in jury trials in federal multidistrict litigation, and state court consolidated proceedings. She also has represented an international insurer nationally in its COVID-19 coverage litigation and has recently joined the litigation team for its voting rights litigation in Georgia.
Celeste has been recognized by Chambers USA as a top commercial litigator, by Best Lawyers as the Lawyer of the Year – New Orleans, for Mass Tort Litigation/Class Action Louisiana, by Benchmark Litigation in the top 250 women in litigation, by Super Lawyers, and by Law360 as a Legal Lion, and by New Orleans Magazine as a Top Lawyer. She is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and the International Association of Defense Counsel.
Dedicated to giving back to the legal profession, Celeste accepted an appointment by the Louisiana Supreme Court to serve on the Executive Committee of the Committee on Bar Admissions and as the Director of the Character and Fitness Panel. She also serves on the Executive Committee and is Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors of Louisiana Appleseed. Celeste is a member of the International Women’s Forum, a by-invitation-only international organization of leading women. She is an adjunct professor at Tulane Law School for Evidence, Depositions, and Trial Advocacy.
Celeste earned her Bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and her Juris Doctorate, summa cum laude, from Tulane Law School. She clerked at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for Judge James L. Dennis. Celeste also worked on Capitol Hill on the legislative staff of United States Senator John Breaux. She served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Governmental Relations; a non-partisan, good government think tank.
