Carter litigates complex commercial disputes in trial and appellate courts nationwide, with a focus on antitrust, consumer, and class action litigation, and with particular expertise in the food and beverage, retail, and hospitality industries.
Carter is a trusted partner to her clients and takes a business-oriented approach to litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She represents clients in civil and criminal antitrust investigations and litigation, merger challenges, and cases involving data breach, privacy, false advertising, RICO, deceptive trade practices, employment, and intellectual property claims. She also provides corporate clients with antitrust, compliance, privacy, and consumer law counseling.
Carter is on Hunton Andrews Kurth’s pro bono committee and has a robust pro bono practice with an emphasis on civil rights and equity in education. In recognition of her pro bono efforts, Carter is consistently named to the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll and has been awarded the firm’s E. Randolph Williams Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service for the past several years. Carter also served for four years as the DC Bar’s under-35 representative to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates, and chaired its Young Lawyers Division’s Committee on Civil Rights and Social Justice.
Carter received her JD from Vanderbilt University Law School and her BA from Duke University.
