Andrea has a broad litigation practice, with particular emphasis in administrative and regulatory law, and civil litigation. She represents clients in cases before all Ontario and Federal courts. Andrea’s litigation experience includes appeals and judicial review applications, administrative and regulatory law, commercial disputes, class actions, defamation and media law, intellectual property disputes, employment law and professional discipline matters. She provides practical and strategic advice on complex issues that often arise at the intersection of many of those areas. Andrea has a particular interest in the application of civil and regulatory law to online activities, including online defamation, digital privacy, and liability for internet- and social media-based harassment and other harms.
Andrea’s practice involves significant advisory work. She advises various adjudicative tribunals as independent legal counsel. She conducts and advises on independent investigations, and regularly advises private entities on regulatory and enforcement matters.
Andrea speaks and writes frequently on various topics relevant to the legal profession and is the co-editor of the Stockwoods Administrative and Regulatory Law Case Review. Since 2012, Andrea has been Adjunct Faculty at Osgoode Hall Law School.
