Dispute resolution

Formed in 1990, Doffermyre Shields Canfield & Knowles is an Atlanta boutique that is composed of “maverick” partners respected by peers as “some the area’s most experienced and sage talent.” While the firm has earned a reputation as “Atlanta’s premier plaintiff firm,” its partners take pains to stress that roughly half of the cases taken on by the firm of recent vintage actually involve defense-side commercial representation. Peers assert, “The Doffermyre firm is willing to take on a lot of risk, and they run things leanly and efficiently. They don’t ‘lawyer up’ a lot of cases. They also get a lot of great referrals from some of the ‘megafirms.’” The firm’s caseload spans a diverse spectrum, with involvement in a major an-titrust case concerning the poultry processing industry, and tobacco litigation concerning the Florida “En-gel” cases. Peers herald Everette Doffermyre and Robert Shields as being “battle-tested trial soldiers, from the old school, which is definitely a compliment.”
